Ninh Binh honours outstanding individuals, organisations in fight against COVID-19 in southern localities

The Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee held a together on January 13 to honour outstanding organisations and individuals who had well performed their tasks of bringing citizens back to the province and joining the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in southern localities.

According to the health sector, a total of 102 medical workers from Ninh Binh voluntarily took part in combating the pandemic and treating and taking care of COVID-19 patients in southern provinces and cities from mid-July to October 2021.
They all overcame difficulties and hardships to fulfill their assigned tasks, and were highly appreciated by local authorities, colleagues and people.
Ninh Binh authorities also arranged two working groups to bring 1,171 citizens who met with difficulties in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces back to the homeland.
Speaking at the function, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc stressed that the event aimed to honour individuals and organisations in picking up citizens from Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces as well as individuals and businesses who made contributions to the fight against the pandemic in the province.

Notably, Xuan Truong Construction Company has made great contributions to the province's fight against COVID-19 by offering free COVID-19 vaccinations for local people, medical equipment, and free meals and food for frontline forces.
Ngoc asked the health sector to continue carrying out measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic effectively and ensure safety for frontline medical workers.
At the same time, departments, sectors, branches and localities need to assist, and provide spiritual and material support for frontline forces, striving to keep Ninh Binh as a safe green zone in the time to come, he said.
At the meeting, 112 collectives and individuals were presented with certificates of merit by the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee in recognition of their contributions.
