The Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee has issued an urgent dispatch, asking departments, sectors, agencies, units and localities to carry out COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
According to the document, the COVID-19 pandemic has been developing complicatedly in many provinces and cities nationwide, with an increasing number of infections in the community.
In order to proactively carry out the COVID-19 prevention and control measures and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community, the provincial People's Committee ordered the continued implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures set out by the government and provincial authorities, especially the "5K message" - khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration); and imposition of strict punishments on people who violate COVID-19 prevention regulations.
Unnecessary mass gatherings are prohibited and necessary events (if any) must ensure COVID-19 prevention measures, the document says.
The provincial People's Committee also ordered a halt to festivals and non-essential services such as karaoke, bar, massage, theatres and online games from May 3.
