Attending the conference were Chairman of the People's Council NguyenTienThanh, Vice Chairpersons Bui Mai Hoa and Dinh Chung Phung, and Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front chapter Tran HongQuang.
Vice Chairman of the People's Council Bui Mai Hoa said some 50 candidates would run for seats in the 14th People's Council. Of the total candidates, six are from the Party agencies, four from the People's Committee, 10 from the People's Council, and 10 from the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front chapter and other organizations.
Around 35 percent of the official list of candidates are expected to be women and the number of ethic minority members in the People's Council in the next tenure will not be lower than that of the previous tenure.
Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Tien Thanh, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council, asked delegates to uphold the democratic spirit to choose eligible candidates to the 14th People's Council.
Two more consultative conferences will be held for the complete 14th People's Council.
