Ninh Binh exploits potential of MICE tourism
According to the Ninh Binh Tourism Association, MICE tourism can gain a turnover that is six-fold higher than other kinds of tourism as MICE delegations always consist of several hundreds of participants who tend to spend more than those on regular tours.
Ninh Binh has, in recent years, been emerged as a popular destination in the northern provinces for MICE tourists as its infrastructure and services have been upgraded considerably in order to receive MICE tourists.
As a result, Ninh Binh has been chosen to host such MICE events as the APEC Senior Financial Officials Meeting (SFOM) 2017, Vesak 2014, and other annual national science conference.
However, the great potentials have not been fully exploited yet.
A lack of luxury hotels and staff teams specialized in MICE tourism in travel agencies with good skills of foreign languages, and other skills are a few reasons to name.
In a bid to tap the potentials for MICE tourism in Ninh Binh, there should be close cooperation between hotels, travel agencies, event organizers to provide quality MICE tourism services, said Nguyen Khac Kho
He stressed that the province also needs to invest in a synchronized infrastructure, with open investment climate, as MICE travelers tend to seek opportunities to visit interesting sites.
The local authorities need to develop convenient services, tourism products, high quality commercial centers, especially international standard convention-exhibition centers Khoan added.
