In a bid to protect aquatic resources sustainably from violations in exploiting aquatic products, then causing bad effects to the ecosystems, Ninh Binh's departments, sectors, and localities have enhanced the management and prevention of illegal aquatic exploitation activities.
Since the beginning of 2022, the provincial Sub-department of Fisheries has cooperated with related units to inspect boats andvehicles conducting aquatic exploitation in the province. As a result, 24 cases of violations, mainly using electric devices to catch fishes, were detected and handled.
Besides, the sub-department also handed over nearly 400 sets of legal documents related to fishery catching in a bid to raise people's sense of responsibility in protecting aquatic resources.
With nearly 22,500 hectares of water surface, 113 kilometers of rivers and 18 kilometers of coast, Ninh Binh owns great potential to develop aquatic resources. However, to turn the potential into strengths, functional agencies must continue their inspections and strictly handle violations of using electric devices in exploiting aquatic resources.
In addition, it is necessary to disseminate information about regulations on protecting and developing aquatic resources, therefore, helping people to be aware of the importance of protecting the aquatic resources.
