Ninh Binh enhances cooperation with Belgian partners

Within the framework of the working visit to EU nations, a delegation of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council, led by Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council Mai Van Tuat, had working sessions with Belgian partners on May 13 and 14.

The delegation had a working session with the Brussels Enterprises Commerce & Industry (BECI).
BECI is a private independent organization, representing over 35,000 Belgian companies. It provides a large number of services, ranging from administrative and legal advice to third-party support.
At the working session, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Song Tung briefed participants on Ninh Binh's development planning, orientations for trade promotion and investment attraction, socio-economic development situation and strengths of local businesses.
The delegation works with the Brussels Enterprises Commerce & Industry (BECI).
Ekaterina Clifford, International Community Manager at BECI, introduced the chamber's services for enterprises, especially companies that are planning to cooperate with Belgian firms. BECI also supports startups in doing business in Europe and across the world.
She said that BECI is ready to support Ninh Binh in promoting trade and investment, assist Ninh Binh firms to join BECI's network and provide them with information about cooperative opportunities as well.
For his part, Tuat wished to receive more support from BECI, especially in the fields of digital transformations; climate change; green economy,circular economy, and knowledge-based economy; infrastructure development and logistics.
He affirmed that Ninh Binh would provide favourable conditions for Belgian firms when making investment in the province.
Later, the delegation worked with the Embassy of Vietnam in Belgium.
Tuat thanked the Embassy for connecting the Ninh Binh delegation with Belgian partners.
He also informed about the province's potential and strengths as well as development orientations.
In the coming time, Ninh Binh will give priority to attracting investment into clean and environmentally friendly industries; organic and circular agriculture; and services, especiallytourism.
Tuat expressed his hope that the Embassy will continue to support Ninh Binh in promoting investment, drawing Belgian partners and investors as well as accompanying the two sides in connecting, expediting investment projects, especially in the fields of eco-tourism, hi-end resort tourism; training hi-quality human resources; building infrastructure for industrial zones, tourism sites and urban areas; manufacturing and assembling automobiles; supporting industry for the automobile industry; manufacturing electronic components; clean and hi-tech industries and agricultural product processing.
Speaking at the working session, Ambassador Nguyen Van Thao spoke highly of Ninh Binh's socio-economic achievements in the past few years, suggesting Ninh Binh build a long-term action plan.
In tourism development, it should pay due attention to advertising cultural values, natural conditions and ecosystem since European visitors are interested in these values when travelling.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium would always accompany Ninh Binh and connect Belgian investors with the province, he stressed.
Concluding the trip, the delegation worked with the Belgium - Vietnam Friendship Association.

Participants discussed some matters related to supporting Vietnamese students in Belgium; connecting universities and colleges of Ninh Binh and Belgium; assisting agent orange (AO) victims and enhancing youth and people exchanges; and promoting trade, tourism and cultural exchanges between Ninh Binh and Belgian localities.
