According to the Department of Health, Ninh Binh recorded a daily average of 120 - 150 COVID-19 cases over the past few days.
The province's pandemic level was rated at level 2 (yellow). Two districts/cities are at level 3 (orange), one district at level 2 and five other districts/cities at level 1 (green).
By January 25, Ninh Binh had logged 39 COVID-19 clusters with a total of 1,426 infections. To date, 2,224 COVID-19 patients have been treated successfully, and 9 others died.
The vaccination campaign has been carried out promptly, safely and effectively. Up to 95.3 percent of local adults aged 18 and older was injected with the fist jab while 93.38 percent got the second shot, and over 30 percent was inoculated with the third jab (additional and booster shot).
At a meeting between the provincial People's Committee and departments and agencies on January 25, participants discussed ways to cope with the COVID-19 such as quarantine, treatment for COVID-19 at home, and purchase of medical equipment for testing at medical facilities at districts, and cities and in mobile medical units.
They raised their concerns about the rising number of people returning to Ninh Binh from other provinces and cities nationwide to welcome the Tet festival as this could pose great potential of more COVID-19 infections in the community, requiring adequate preparations in terms of quarantine facilities and treatment.
They stressed the need to speed up the inoculation for local people when more COVID-19 vaccines are allocated to Ninh Binh while tightening the control over the movement of people.
Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc has set following tasks:
Attention must be paid to the communication work among local people about COVID-19, reminding them to keep vigilant about the pandemic.
Medical facilities must strictly implement COVID-19 prevention and control measures by classifying and monitoring patients and their relatives.
Organisations, individuals and the entire society should be mobilized to provide enough medicines, medical material and equipment to serve the rising demand of COVID-19 testing during the Tet festival.
Districts and cities are asked to take the initiative in the fight against COVID-19 and carefully control the movement of people returning from areas at levels 3 and 4.
Local people are requested to limit unnecessary activities that gather a larger number of people and strictly apply the 5K principle in collective activities.
Ninh Binh is striving to curb the COVID-19 so that there are no more pandemic clusters in the community after the Tet festival.
