In the past time, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has closely coordinated with districts and cities to guide collectives and business households to join and classify OCOP products in line with regulations.
As a result, in 2023, Ninh Binh classified and recognised 83 OCOP products, including 80 new ones and three reclassified ones. The figure raised the province's total number of OCOP products to 181, including 70 four-star and 111 three-star products.
In 2024, Ninh Binh is striving to have 30 more OCOP products classified as three-star or higher and have more potential five-star products which will be suggested to be recognised as national OCOP products.
It will make efforts to have at least one craft village with products rated as three-star products or higher.
The province will also develop three selling booths to introduce and sell OCOP products in association with handicraft villages and tourism services.
In order to achieve the targets, relevant agencies will enchance support for potential collectives and business households to join the OCOP programme, register brand names and protected rights, design labels and packaging, build production and business plans, step up trade promotion and market expansion and join e-commerce platforms.
