According to the People's Committee of Nho Quan district, due to typhoon Yagi and its circulation, there were prolonged downpours in the locality, causing landslides and cracks at Veo hill. The cracks in two locations are 380 meters in long, threatening the lives and property of 139 households and a cathedral church.
The Nho Quan District People's Committee was asked to keep a close watch on developments of the landslides and promptly report to the provincial People's Committee.
At the same time, the district must build plans on evacuating the affected households and arrange forces to closely monitor the developments of the landslides and cracks.
In responding to the emergency situation, Nho Quan authorities installed warning signs, disseminated on the mass media, and prevented animals and vehicles from entering the dangerous area, especially during and after heavy rains.
