The center is formed by the merge of five other centers, including the Preventive Medical Center, the Center for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control, the Reproductive Health Care Center, the Dermatology Center and the Health Education and Communication Center.
The Center for Disease Control aims to protect public health through the control and prevention of diseases and noncontagious diseases in the province.
The center is also tasked to detect diseases, take preventive measures, and provide treatments.
Managed by the Department of Health, the centre has three functional departments and 12 professional departments.It is run by a General Director and three deputy directors with the support of a nearly-160-member staff.
The establishment of the Center for Disease Control is aimed at implementing the Party and State policy on streamlining the State apparatus. It also suits the reality of the province as well.
