Ninh Binh celebrates Buddha's 2562th birthday

The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee Tong Quang Thin, representatives from the Vietnam BuddhistSangha's Executive Council, among others.

At the ceremony, participants heard a message on the Buddha's 2562th birthday delivered by the Supreme Patriarch of the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha, in which he urges dignitaries and followers to play an important role in enhancing the nation's unity, and be active in the building and protection of the homeland, contributing to safeguarding peace and prosperous life for people everywhere.

Addressing the function, Vice Chairman Thin acknowledged and spoke highly of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha's efforts to promote the province's socio-economic development in the past time, noting that local Buddhist followers continue joining hands in building a strong national unity bloc as well as fulfilling their tasks in developing Ninh Binh into a wealthy and civilized province.

During the ceremony, local leaders and VBS representativesand dignitaries joined in performing important rituals, like the traditional Bathing of the Buddha.
