Speaking at the event, President Quang praised the outstanding achievements gained over the last 25 years by the local Party, government and people. The province has seen continuous increases in its economic growth with an average annual growth rate of 17.59%, along with a positive shift in its economic structure.
President Tran Dai Quang speaks at the ceremony.
The President asked the province to utilise its position in the south of the Red River Delta—with a number of famous cultural and historical relic sites and landscapes such as Phat Diem Stone Church, Trang An Eco-Resort, Bai Dinh Pagoda and Cuc Phuong National Park—to develop tourism and services.
Ninh Binh should focus on administrative reforms, mechanisms and policy perfection, infrastructure development and human resources training, he said, adding that more attention should be paid to improving Party-building and the political system in terms of ideology, organisation, personnel and inspection.
More attention should also be paid to building effective government policy, meeting the requirements of industrialisation, modernisation and international integration, while strengthening business environmental improvement and creating favourable conditions for local development, he added.
President Tran Dai Quang urged the northern province to increase efforts in order to become a top tourist destination in Vietnam as well as further its tourism sector to make breakthroughs and become a spearhead economic sector, bringing high profits to the province.
