Ninh Binh begins vaccination for children aged 5-12 against COVID-19

There are 163 out of 385 pupils of the Ly Tu Trong Secondary School eligible for COVID-19 vaccination.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign for children from 5 to below 12 years old has been implemented since April, and it will be carried out in different phases right after the province receives vaccines from the Ministry of Health.

In the first phase, Ninh Binh was allocated 9,700 doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine which are used for sixth graders under 12 years old. 

Younger children (fifth graders) will be the next students to get the jab if there are vaccine left.

The vaccination campaign has been carried out safely and in line with regulations. 

Sixth graders are the first to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and the next will be younger students. Those eligible for the innoculation do not contract COVID-19 or have recovered from the disease for more than three months.

According to statistics, Ninh Binh has more than 126,000 children aged between 5 and under 12 years old eligible for COVID-19 vaccination. Among them, 10,981 are sixth graders (under 12 years old).
