In the first eight months of 2024, the province witnessed 3.1-fold rise in the number of international holidaymakers as compared to the same period last year.
In the January -August period, Ninh Binh welcome nearly 6.9 million tourists, including 828,000 foreign visitors. Revenue from tourism activities in the period was estimated to reach over 6.76 trillion VND, making a year-on-year increase of 45.7%. In particular, groups of Indian tourists with a total number of 3,800 people, contributed to the outcomes.
The results were attributed to the province's strategy on diversifying tourism products and launching new night tourism products. In addition, the province has stepped up tourism promotion both in and outside the country and combined tourism activities with cultural and sport events.
Ninh Binh's image and tourism brand have been advertised widely on social media platforms, such as Facebook and Youtube, and some major tourism magazines, helping to draw more international tourists to the province.
With the recorded results, the local tourism sector is likely to surpass its target of welcoming 7.5 million tourist arrivals in 2024 and earning over 8.2 trillion VND in revenue.
