Accordingly, Ninh Binh's urban area will be developed into a hub of services, culture and ecological tourism of the Red River Delta in association with preserving and promoting Trang An landscape's value.
The scope of the newly-approved planning scheme will include the whole area defined in the master planning scheme of Ninh Binh's urban area to 2030 with a vision to 2050 and an expanded area to the West of Ben Dang river and National Highway 12B.
Specifically, the new planning scheme will cover administration units of Ninh Binh city, Hoa Lu district; Gia Sinh and Gia Tan communes of Gia Vien district; Mai Son commune of Yen Mo district; Khanh Hoa and Khanh Phu communes of Yen Khanh district; a small part of Yen Son commune and Tan Binh ward of Tam Diep city; and Son Lai, Son Ha and Quynh Luu communes of Nho Quan district.
The northern area borders Gia Vien district while the southern part borders Tam Diep city, and Yen Mo and Yen Khanh districts; the western area borders the Ben Dang River, National Highway 12B, the remaining part of Nho Quan district, and Tam Diep city; and the eastern area is next to Nho Quan district, Tam Diep city; and the eastern area borders Day river and Nam Dinh province.
The total area of the planning scheme is up to 23,242 hectares.
The goal of readjusting the planning scheme is to match with the general development orientation of Ninh Binh with a view to turn Ninh Binh's urban area into a hub of services, culture and ecological tourism the red River Delta in association with preserving and promoting the Trang An landscape's value.
The population of Ninh Binh's urban area is forecast to reach 540.000-560.000 by 2040.
The PM requested Ninh Binh to focus on adjusting the scope and planning deadline of the scheme, calculating the area, population and land in a bid to build it into a tier-1 urban city in parallel with preserving and promoting the Trang An landscape's value.
Ninh Binh needs to study new projects to map out the planning scheme which holds the overall vision and strategic, long-term and sustainable development, the PM added.
