After years of implementing the programme, the poverty reduction has reaped important outcomes, contributing remarkbly to the province's socio-economic development.
Under the multidimensional poverty criteria, by the end of 2022, Ninh Binh had 7,438 poor households and 8,829 near-poor families, accounting for 2.36% and 2.81% of the province's total households, respectively.
The outcomes are attributed to the province's programmes, policies and solutions to support poor and near-poor households in terms of loans, vocational training, jobs, housing, healthcare, information access and clean water in an attempt to improve and increase incomes of local people, and reduce poverty.
It also aims to have over 80% of poor labourers participate ina support programme on agro-forestry-fishery production in order to innovate production methods and techniques.
To achieve the set targets, the province will ask Party committees and authorities at all levels and sectors to step up communication activities to raise public awareness of the significance and objectives of the poverty reduction programme.
Localities need to combine the poverty reduction programme with their annual socio-economic development programmes.
Localities and departments need to regularly review and update the list of poor and near-poor households to promptly provide support.
