Ninh Binh- a tourism city of the future

Located at the southern gateway to the northern coastal region, Ninh Binh city is not only a transport hub of the region but also one of the major national tourism centers which offers diverse tourism products. The master plan on developing tourism of the Red River delta and the northeast coastal region until 2020, with a vision toward 2030, says Ninh Binh province holds an important position in the tourism development of the region. Ninh Binh city boasts 189 landscapes, historical and relic sites, five of which have been listed as national and 28 others, provincial. Popular destinations like Non Nuoc, Ky Lan and Canh Dieu mountains, Truong Han Sieu temple…have attracted large crowds of local and foreign visitors over the past years.

The tourism icon of the city is Thuy mountain and Van river. They are not only a beautiful landscape but also a site where Ninh Binh people fought against foreign invaders, symbolizing bravery, resilience and pride of Ninh Binh people. Over the past recent years, the Ninh Binh municipal Party Committee and its people are determined to implement successfully the target of "developing tourism as a spearhead industry" set by the 20th Congress of the provincial Party Committee. To achieve the target, Ninh Binh city has invested in and upgraded social, technical and tourism infrastructure, bringing about a green,clean and attractive city.Electricity, water, telecommunication systems and social - economic infrastructure have provided an effective service for tourism growth and development. Besides, Ninh Binh city focuses on restructuring the economy, fostering trade, services and tourism. At present, the tourism sector accounts for over 50 % of the economy. The city also provides numerous incentives to attract investors. To date, there have been 131 tourist accommodation establishments, accounting for 47% of the total accommodation establishments of the province, 19 of which are rated as 2-star and higher. Once developed, tourism will create more jobs, thus contributing to poverty reduction of the city. In the coming time, the Ninh Binh municipal Party Committee and its people will strive to develop the locality, turning itself into a modern and civilized tourism city, an impressive destination for both foreign and domestic visitors. Accordingly, Ninh binh city will continue to create favorable conditions for investors; accelerate the establishment of complete entertainment complexes, zone tourism areas as well as urban architecture to construct a unique Ninh Binh city, striving to upgrade itself into a first-level city by 2030.
