Ninh Binh - A land of rich culture identity
With its geographical and topographical features, Ninh Binh was the place where Vietnamese prehistoric people settled downed over 30,000 years ago.
Various traces of prehistoric people who lived some 10,000-30,000 years ago were found in Lang Valley of Tam Diep city, Dang Dang cave and Doi Cave of Nho Quan district, and Man Bac relic site in Yen Mo district and other sites in Trang An complex.
In the 10th century, the first centralised feudal state, Dai Co Viet, was established in Hoa Lu when Dinh Bo Linh defeated 12 warlords and reunited the country. In 968, Dinh Bo Linh ascended to the throne and took Dinh Tien Hoang as his appellation.
The culture of the Hoa Lu capital has helped form the civilization of Dai Co Viet and Vietnam today.
Remnants of citadel, temples, architecture buildings, material constructions of brick, stone pillar, coins, and artifacts that bear special drawings and symbols have proved the development of culture of prehistoric people under the Dai Co Viet state.
The culture of prehistoric people throughout thousands of years has granted Ninh Binh a large number of historical relic sites, heritages and artifacts that have high, scientific, historical, and aesthetic values. These are important foundations for Ninh Binh to build its own unique brand.

Of which, paying special attention to preserving current cultural values, traditional festivals, intangible cultural heritages of Xam singing and Mother Goddesses worship practices and archeological activity.
Besides, it also focuses on upgrading historical relic sites, building modern culture buildings such as Dinh Tien Hoang square, ; cultural houses in hamlets and communes in a bid to provide private space for community activities, preserving and promoting traditional arts thereby improving spiritual life for local people.
