In the first years after the province's re-establishment, local people in mountainous areas did not have resources to restore and preserve their cultural identities. In recent years, as their living standards have been improved, Muong people have paid more heed to conserving their cultural values.
The women unions at all levels take responsible for mobilising and passing onto young generations dances, songs, games and rituals.
To date, Nho Quan has established seven clubs to preserve Muong culture values such as cong chieng (gong), Dum singing and traditional games.
The provincial boarding school for ethnic minority students has also organised numerous activities and programmes in its extracurricular activities to popularise and promote Muong culture values among young generations in addition to providing knowledge for its students.
Nho Quan has defined culture as the spiritual foundation of the society as well as both the objective and momentum for the locality's socio-economic development.
Therefor, it has regularly organised meaningful activities in a bid to improve the spiritual life of local people and preserve Muong culture values.
