New appearance of Tam Coc paddy field welcomes Ninh Binh Tourism Week

Since 2018, the Ninh Binh Tourism Week has been held annually in the middle of May to attract tourists in the low-season.

The year 2022 marked the first time local farmers in Van Lam village of Ninh Hai commune planted the paddy field into the shape of the festival flag and words "Sac vang Tam Coc" (Yellow colour of Tam Coc). The special paddy field made a strong impression on visitors and photographers.

This year, the paddy field is cultivated into the shape of the picture "Ly ngu vong nguyet" (carp playing with the full moon) on an area of over 95.000 sq.m along Ngo Dong river. 

The picture-shaped paddy field shows the desire for national peace, wealthy people, favourable weather conditions and bumper crops.

The message of the art work is to call on local farmers to join hands with authorities to preserve cultural and natural values of the heritage.

By the middle of May, the art work will become vivid and colorful when the paddy is ripe and turns into yellow colour, creating an artistic work to welcome tourists

 to Tam Coc during the Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023.
