These figures brought the total foreign arrivals to the country from the start of the year to over 6.45 million, up 25.4% compared to the same period last year.
Of this, arrivals by air were 5.43 million, up 28.5% year on year, while those by sea and road posted some 98,800, down 15.4%, and over 914,500, up 14.5%, respectively.
Almost all markets sending tourists to Vietnam witnessed growth, such as Hong Kong-China (92.8%), China (57.9%), the Republic of Korea (37.6%), Thailand (34.9%), Italy (31.8%), Spain (27.6%), Laos (26.6%), New Zealand (26.4%), Russia (25%) and Sweden (24.3%).
Only Cambodia saw fewer tourists visiting Vietnam than the same period last year, with a reduction of 12.9%.
During the period, the country provided services to 43.1 million domestic tourists, in which 20.5% stayed overnight. Total tourist turnover reached over VND265 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 22.5%.
