The project will be built under the form of public-private partnership (PPP). Ninh Binh's Department of Transport is assigned to work as the investor.
The Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway's section runs through Yen Mo and Yen Khanh districts of Ninh Binh province.
The project starts at an intersection of the North-South expressway in Mai Son commune of Yen Mo district and ends at the bridge crossing Day river in Khanh Cuong commune of Yen Khanh district.
The expressway is designed to have four lanes with a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
The project comprises 12 bridges, 19.73 kilometers of frontage roads, one rest station, 19 flyovers and water drainage systems.
It has total investment capital of over 6.97 trillion VND (295 million USD). Of which, 2 trillion VND (86 million USD) comes from the province's budget while the rest will be sourced from the central budget.
The project is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2025 and will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2027. It is expected to be put into operation in 2028.
The Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway (CT.08) has a total length of around 109 kilometers. It starts at the eastern North-South expressway in Ninh Binh city and ends at the Ha Noi - Hai Phong expressway.
The expressway is designed with four lanes. Currently, 29 kilometers of the expressway in Hai Phong city and Thai Binh province are being constructed.
The Ninh Binh Department of Transport said once completed, the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway will connect with expressways, national highways and economic axes in the region, thus helping to open new space of development and creating momentum for socio-economic development of localities in particular and the whole country in general.
