The forum was jointly organised by the provincial People's Committee of Ninh Binh, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA).
Attending the forum were Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quan Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Song Tung and leaders of several ministries, central agencies and provincial departments.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung spoke highly of the VITA's initiative to organise the forum to revive the domestic tourism sector, thus turning domestic travel a driving force to recover the Vietnamese tourism industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chairman of the Ninh Binh People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc briefed on Ninh Binh's tourism achievements in recent years, which have contributed to the province's socio-economic development in the 2015 - 2020 period.
The Resolution of the 22nd Provincial Party Congress defined tourism as a spearhead economic sector and Ninh Binh will become a leading tourism centre of Vietnam by 2030.
To realise the target, Ninh Binh has focused on mobilising resources, encoucaring investment in infrastructure, and developing tourism products and high quality services, he said.
At the same time, the province will provide favorable conditions and policies for investors in the field of tourism, the Chairman noted.
Ngoc also expressed his wish that the forum would seek find out the best solutions to revive domestic tourism and increase tourism links, thus developing the tourism sector of Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh in particular.
Ninh Binh is always ready to welcome investors, travel companies and tourists both in and outside the country, he stressed.
The forum focused on the main topics such analyzing the importance of domestic tourism; domestic tourism development in Vietnam and the region; solutions to develop domestic tourism; domestic tourism promotion programmes, human resources development, and digital application of tourism companies.
Within the framework of the forum, state agencies, the VITA and travel companies signed numerous bilateral and multilarel cooperative deals.
