National Council for Cultural Heritage established

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to set up a National Council for Cultural Heritage (NCCH) - an advisory body responsible for assisting the Government chief in preserving and promoting the values of cultural heritages
The Council is to provide advice to the Prime Minister in two forms, including consulting on demand and independent consultation.
Specifically, the Council shall put forward orientations, strategies and policies to protect and promote the values of cultural heritages, rank special national relics and recognize national precious objects, among others.
The Council is tasked to appraise cultural heritage dossiers submitted to the Prime Minister by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as regulated by the Law on Cultural Heritages; and participate in giving ideas to other important cultural heritage issues as requested by the Prime Minister.
