Under a resolution approved in June 2023, the National Assembly will hold the confidence motion for 44 high ranking officials elected or approved by the legislature in the State apparatus.
Among them will be the State President, Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Assembly. They will also include the Vice President, Vice Chairpersons of the National Assembly, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Council for Ethnic Affairs, Chairman of the National Assembly Committees, General Secretary of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Ministers, Government members, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the Government Inspector General.
However, State President Vo Van Thuong, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Environment Minister Dang Quoc Khanh and head of the National Assembly Committee for Finance and Budgetary Affairs Le Quang Manh will be exempted from the confidence motion as they were all elected/approved by the National Assembly this year.
According to National Assembly deputies, the results of the vote, due to be announced publicly on October 25, will be used to evaluate, appoint and dismiss officials.
The National Assembly began its year-end session in Hanoi on October 23 which is scheduled to last for 22 days.
