Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh won 450 votes, or 91.09% of the total NA deputies, and became the new Vice President.She is currently a member of the Party Central Committee, deputy chief of the Party Central Committee's Office as well as a lawmaker.Born on December 25, 1959, in the central province of Quang Nam, Thinh is a bachelor of law, history and political theory and holds a master's degree in Party building.Previously, Thinh was the Vice Standing President of the Vietnam Women's Union, Secretary of the Vinh Long provincial Party Committee, an alternate member of the 10th Party Central Committee, a member of the Party Central Committee in the 11th and 12th tenures, and a NA deputy in the 11th and 13th tenures.With the support of 472 deputies (or 95.5% of the total), Nguyen Hoa Binh, a Secretary of the Party Central Committee and a NA deputy, was elected as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court.Le Minh Tri, a Party Central Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Internal Affairs, was named Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy with 316 votes in favour (or 63.97%).Parliament also passed separate resolutions on the elections of the Vice President, the Chief Justice and the Prosecutor General with respective approval rates of 94.74%, 90.49% and 76.11%
