As many as 1.508 million jobs were generated domestically while 147,000 workers were sent to work abroad, raising the total number of guest workers to 550,000 ones over the recent four years.
Speaking at the meeting reviewing the labor tasks in 2019, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Tan Dung said that the ministry has completed 100% of plans and tasks assigned in the Government and the Prime Minister's working program.
Remarkably, the ministry has maintained and developed overseas labor markets and potential markets in Europe, signed the memorandum of understanding tobring special skilled laborers to Japan aswell as launched policies to support overseas workers, recruit and train laborers from the Southwest region.
Around 2.33 million students were enrolled during the year, reaching 103.5% of the plan. As many as 2.2 million students graduated, accounting for 100.2% of the plan.
The quality of vocational training has been improved, making contributions to raising the nation's vocational training index by 13 steps.
