More advantages for Ninh Binh tourism to take off

Since Ninh Binh has developed tourism based on natural resources and local culture, the role of local people is an extremely important factor.

Mai Thi Hue, a representative of Tam Coc Valley Homestay, said: "The majority of our guests are foreigners, so that we have to improve foreign language skills constantly. Moreover, we have regularly upgraded infrastructure and facilities. The prices are publicised in a bid to meet the demand of foreigners".

Another core factor needs to mention in building Ninh Binh tourism brand is local people. Practising of civilized behaviours among local people has been paid due attention, and this has helped Ninh Binh to develop itself into a leading friendly destination in the world.

Ninh Binh boasts up to 1,821 relic sites, including 298 provincial relic sites and 81 national relic sites.

It owns great potential to develop tourism with typical outstanding products as well.

"We are stepping up adverstising and exploitation of values of Trang An natural and cultural heritage to create typical products with outstanding values of the Hoa Lu ancient capital", Director of the Department of Tourism Bui Van Manh said.

The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex is the only mixed heritage site in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. It has over 400 relic sites such as pagodas, temples and caves.

Ninh Binh is also home to 225 traditional festivals with special intangible values, namely Hoa Lu festival, Trang An festival, Thai Vi temple festival, and Bai Dinh pagoda festival. These have served as great resources for Ninh Binh to develop tourism. Culture has been defined as a main pillar to lead other industries to develop as well as attract investment into the tourism sector.

Gradually developing night tourism

Tran Van Truong, Head of the management board of Hoa Lu Old Quarter, said: "In a bid to attract more tourists at night as well as encourage them to spend more money, we have organised numerous activities such as art programmes, Cheo singing, Xam singing, puppetry shows, live music shows or folk games."

Recently, Ninh Binh has launched numerous night tourism products, namely Tam Coc night market; night tour to watch wildlife at Cuc Phuong National Park, tour to discover Bai Dinh pagoda at night….in an attempt to lengthen tourist's stay and bring fresh experiences to visitors.
