A delegation from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment led by Minister Dang Quoc Khanh on July 13 had a working session with Ninh Binh's leaders on the state management of natural resources and the environment.

Working with the delegation were Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan; Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council Mai Van Tuat and Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc, among others.
At the working session, leaders of Ninh Binh reported some difficulties and obstacles related to state management of natural resources and the environment and put forth some proposals such as raising criteria for land use for industrial zones; supporting and guiding the province in calculating land right use fees and land lease fees for tourism projects; providing specific policies for pond and garden land in residential areas.
Chairman of the provincial People's committee Pham Quang Ngoc stressed that in the past years, Ninh Binh has paid attention to managing natural resources and the environment, therefore creating resources for socio-economic and tourism development.
Ngoc suggested the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the General Department of Meteorology and Hydrology to support, guide and cooperate with Ninh Binh to build automatic environment monitoring systems in local tourist destinations.
Ninh Binh also expects the ministry to help the province carry out an overal assessment of environmental effects on ecosystems at Day rivermouth and Kim Son alluvial grounds.
Speaking at the working session, Khanh affirmed that the ministry will guide and assign its related agencies to provide solutions and assist Ninh Binh to remove difficulties and problems in the management work.
The minister asked Ninh Binh to pay more due attention to the planning work, carefully consider the expansion and development of industrial zones and clusters, give priority to hi-tech industries; and step up afforestation, forest and environmental protection, and climate change.
He also hoped Ninh Binh to contribute ideas to the amendment and supplement of laws and decrees related to natural resources and the environment.
Previously, the delegation made a field trip to inspect waste water treatment plants at Gian Khau Industrial Park and Hyundai Thanh Cong Automobile Manufacturing Factory.
