Politburo member and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang on December 29 paid a working visit to Ninh Binh province.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha briefed the Minister on the province's performance of political tasks as well as its defence and military affairs in 2021.
This year, the province has successfully implemented the dual task of COVID-19 prevention and control, and socio-economic development, fulfilling 14 out of the 17 targets set by the provincial People's Council.
Ninh Binh's GRDP expanded by 5.73 percent in 2021. The new-style rural development programme has been accelerated with 117 out of the total 119 communes, three districts and one city accomplishing the task of new-style countryside building.
National defence and military affairs in the province have been strengthened while political security and social order have been maintained.
Speaking at the working session, Giang spoke highly of the efforts and achievements made by Ninh Binh's Party Organisation, administration, soldiers and people in the recent past.
He expressed his belief that with its potential and advantages, Ninh Binh will harvest more successes in 2022 and the following years.
Following his working session with the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board, the Minister worked with leaders of the provincial Military Command, Border Guard Command and military units in the province.

Giang recognised and commended officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces for their achievements in 2021, and asked them to continue overcoming difficulties, strictly obeying commands, and staying ready to combat. He also requested them to work closely with other forces to build up a firm defence and fulfill the assigned tasks.
On this occasion, the Minister presented gifts to officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces and Division 350.
