Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc briefed the delegation about agricultural production in the province.
He also proposed some matters relating to the conversion of rice cultivation land; national detail plan on developing the sea-based economy with inter-provincial and regional connectivity; and building a Vietnamese rice culture museum and a center for forestry plant genetic resources conservation in the province.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong urged Ninh Binh to build an agriculture serving tourism development. That is a smart eco-agriculture combining scientific and technological advances with the special traditional customs of Ninh Binh, he said.
The MARD will send a group of experts to help the province restructure its agricultural production model, he said.
Accordingly, Ninh Binh needs to select some trees and livestock that are suitable to its natural conditions to live healthily and bring big profits to local farmers.
Kim Son district should improve its aquaculture infrastructure in combination with preventing natural disasters and climate change, thus turning itself into a model of aquaculture development and salt marsh-based tourism, Cuong noted.
In the afternoon of July 30, the delegation paid a fact-finding trip to an aquaculture area using high technology in Gia Hoa commune of Gia Vien district, and inspected the progress of construction of Binh Minh 4 dyke in Kim Son district.
