Senior Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich, Director of the General Department of Politics attended the event among others.
On October 31, 1945, under the guideline of the Party Central Committee and directives of President Ho Chi Minh, 12 war zones across the country, including war zones 2 and 3, were founded. In late 1975, war zones 2 and 3 were merged into Military Region 3 to meet the new requirements of missions.
With its achievements and contributions over the past 75 years, the military region's armed forces were twice honored with the "Golden Star" Order and various other noble awards.
Hailing the military region's achievements, rapid development, and glorious tradition, Senior Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich, Director of the General Department of Politics asked the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 3 to strictly and effectively carry out resolutions and directives of the Party, State, the Central Military Commission, and Defense Ministry on military and defense missions.
He urged the military region to forecast and evaluate situations, so as to make valuable recommendations for higher levels to deal with circumstances in a timely and effectively manner.
In the coming time, the Military Region 3 Command should focus on building the armed forces with political strength and pay attention to political and ideological education for troops while coordinating with local leadership to strengthen the whole people's defense posture and the whole-people defense disposition in combination with the whole-people security posture.
The military region should attach importance to building strong provincial and municipal defensive areas, combining economic development and defense and security consolidation, consolidating the national unity bloc, and winning the trust of the people, especially those in strategic and key areas.
