Mai Son-National Highway 45 expressway section to be completed on schedule

Racing against time

Under the direction of Ministry of Transport, the Mai Son-National Highway 45 section of the North-South Expressway in the eastern region is one of the four projects that must be completed in 2022.

There is not much time left, therefore the contractor has been carrying out the project all day and night.

Nguyen Thanh Son, a truck driver said: "I have worked here since the project started, but this time we have to work overtime. The contractor has arranged accommodations for us right at the construction site, so we could make the most of time with the highest working efficiency."

Road roller driver Nguyen Van Hai said: "We are ready to work overtime to complete the progress of construction as scheduled and have more incomes We are delighted to make contributions to a national-level project."

Do Van Dieu, a staff member of the Xuan Truong Construction Company, said: "In a bid to ensure the health of workers, over the past two months, we have provided food directly to workers at the construction site. We have also offered additional meals to the workers."

High determination

The Mai Son-National Highway 45 expressway section has a total length of 63.37 km, running through Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa provinces.

The section running through Ninh Binh has a total length of 14,35km, connecting Mai Son commune in Yen Mo district and Quang Son commune in Tam Diep city.

Ngo Van Phuc, manager of the bidding package No.10, said: "During this time, the contractor is stepping up construction by arranging over 300 machines and more than 500 workers to work round the clock in a bid to ensure the quality, technical and artistic factors of the project."

According to the contractor, currently, the cleared site for the project has been handed over to the contractor while an area of 3.4 hectares which was added to the project after adjusting Dong Giao intersection has been carried out compensation for site clearance.

To date, 76.14% of the workload has been completed with a total disbursed amount of over 1.3 trillion VND. The progress of construction meets the scheduled time.

Under the drastic direction of the Ministry of Transport and the investor, and the highest determination of the contractor and workers, the Mai Son-National Highway 45 component project would be completed on schedule, thus contributing to facilitating traffic on the North-South expressway and creating favourable conditions to spur socio-economic development of the country in general and Ninh Binh province in particular.
