Lord Buddha's2561s birthday marked in Ninh Binh

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee Tong Quang Thin hailed positive contributions made by the VBS to the national construction and development.

He expressed his hope that the VBS would continue promoting the fine traditions of Buddhism, and encouraging nuns and monks to stay united, follow the teachings of Buddhism, and observe religious practices while fulfilling citizens' duties to the country.

The Vice Chairman stressed that the Party and State always respect the legitimate right to freedom of religions and beliefs and ensure that all religious activities are conducted in accordance with law.

Also at the ceremony, local leaders and representatives of the Vietnam Buddist Sangha, nuns and monks held a series of rituals to pray for a peaceful life and good health for all people as well as prosperity of the country.
