* The Hanoi Municipal Department of Culture and Sports directed arts and culture agencies in the city to broadcast virtual events and pre-record cultural performance programmes on television to entertain residents on New Year's Eve.
Prominent among them included the 'Ha Noi Chao Xuan' programme (Hanoi greets new spring) hosted by the Hanoi Cheo (Vietnamese traditional opera) Theatre, 'Chao Xuan 2022' (Welcoming Spring 2022) by the Thang Long Puppetry Theatre, and the Virtual Countdown Lights Festival 2022 by Capital Studio Media.
* In Ho Chi Minh City, a countdown programme to welcome New Year 2022 took place between 10pm on December 31 and 0:10am on January 1 on the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street without guests or spectators due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Art performances were also staged throughout districts in the city on New Year's Eve.
* In the evening of December 31, 2021, the Tuyen Quang provincial People's Committee hosted a programme entitled 'Khat Vong Tuyen Quang' (Tuyen Quang's Aspiration) to celebrate New Year 2022.
The event featured songs, dances, musical acts and performances by artists from the Tuoi Tre (Youth Theatre) and art clubs in the province.
* A New Year musical celebration was held online in Dak Lak Province by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the Facebook page and YouTube channel of the provincial culture centre, livestreaming beautiful songs and colourful dances by singers and dancers of the locality.
* The Lam Dong Provincial Culture and Arts Centre also broadcast a pre-record arts programme on the New Year's Eve on digital platforms and social networks to welcome 2022.
