Localities organise candle-lighting ceremonies in tribute to heroic martyrs

On July, 26 Youth Union members of Ninh Binh province have coordinated with related sectors, branches, units and localities to organise candle-lighting ceremonies to commemorate war heroes and martyrs.
Provincial leaders, crowds of people from all around the province have lit candles at the Martyrs Cemeteries, monuments in localities to mark the 76th anniversary of the Invalids and Martyrs' Day.
Candles being lit at martyr cemeteries and monuments demonstrate people's gratitude towards the heroes and martyrs, who laid down their lives for the sake of the Fatherland's independence and freedom.
During the two resitance wars against France and the US, there were 16,000 soldiers died, nearly 15,000 wounded and sicked soldiers, with 1,200 Vietnamese heroic mothers.
