Local people in flood diversion areas must be evacuated: Authorities

As the water level on Hoang Long and Day rivers is rising high, Chairman of the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee, Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Pham Quang Ngoc on September 12 signed an order asking for the evacuation of residents in flood diversion areas in Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts.
Accordingly, the People's Committees of Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts were requested to promtly inform local residents in the flood diversion areas and deploy plans to evacuate people as soon as the water level on Hoang Long at De wharf reaches +4.9 metters.
All local residents must be evacuated to safe places before 6pm on September 12, 2024 and before Lac Khoai spillway is operated.
The People's Committees of Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts must cooperate with public security and military forces and related agencies to evacuate local residents and prepare all necessary human resources and vehicles for rescue operations when needed.
