The National Assembly deputies delegation from Ninh Binh province organised a reunion of generations of NA deputies in Ninh Binh on January 4 to mark the 70th anniversary of Vietnam's first General Election (January 6, 1946-2016).
The gathering saw the presence of former chairman of National Assembly Nguyen Van An, Minister of public security Tran Dai Quang, the alternative member of party central committee monitoring the Ninh Binh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh, officials, and nearly 200 NA deputies of different generations living and working in the province. The delegates recalled the significance of the first general election, affirming the strength of the great national unity bloc, a result of the kinship and deep-seated belief of the entire people to the Party and Uncle Ho, and a milestone in the revolutionary State of Vietnam. They noted that the first general election opened a new era of the only legislature representing national independence, unification and unity. President of Peoples Council Nguyen Tien Thanh stressed that the election took place as the country's situation faced huge difficulties, and was a fierce political and national fight. Remembering merits of previous NA deputy generations, Ho Chi Minh City's NA deputies always uphold responsibilities and unceasingly improve their performance to respond to voters, Lap said. Speaking at the gathering, The secretary Nguyen Thi Thanh reiterated that the NA always accompany the nation and put the interests of people and the nation above all. She affirmed that the Party, the State and people always respect NA deputies' contributions to the national cause of liberation and unification in the past and the current national construction and defence. she expressed his hope that the deputies would continue making further contributions to the country, particularly to the city's municipal Party Committee and authorities in operation.
