Leaders pay Tet visit to localities, units

On February 8, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited and gave Tet greetings to Da Nang.

Visiting the city's Police Department, the Deputy PM appreciated the achievements that the department made in the last year, contributing to maintaining social order and security, particularly during the time of the party congresses at all levels and the 12th National Party Congress.

He also asked the city's Police force to fulfill their assigned tasks in 2016, notably protecting the election of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels in May.

In addition, the department should continue to ensure the social order, security and politics, contributing to the city's development as well as the cause of national construction and defence, said the Deputy PM.

Paying a Tet visit to Hai Chau district's Party Committee, Deputy PM Phuc expressed his pleasure at the notable achievements on socio-economic development that the district made in the past year.

He urged the district to continue to promote their results, step up urban development and associate trade and service development with boosting tourism.

On the occasion, Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Education and Information Vo Van Thuong visited and presented gifts to senior artists who are living at the Ho Chi Minh City artists' nursing house.

Addressing the meeting, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong expressed his thanks to great contributions of old artists for the country's culture and arts as well as gave wishes of good health to them.

He also asked the City's relevant agencies to pay more attention to care for senior artists.

On February 9, Politburo member and Chief of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army General Ngo Xuan Lich visited Division 301 under the Hanoi Capital High Command; Regiment 64 of Division 361 under the Air Force and Air Defence Service and Division 308 under Army Corps 1.

Speaking at the meeting, General Ngo Xuan Lich appreciated the achievements that the units have gained over the recent years, particularly ensuring security during the 12th National Party Congress.

He asked the officers and soldiers to always actively combat the aggression and conspiracy of enemy forces as well as fulfill all assigned tasks.
