Large archaeological excavation underway at Hoa Lu ancient capital

Ninh Binh's Department of Sport and Culture has been cooperating with the Vietnam Institute of Archeology to carry out excavation in the area to the South of King Le Dai Hanh Temple inside the historical relic site of Hoa Lu ancient capital.
Large archaeological excavation underway at Hoa Lu ancient capital
The excavation has been conducted on a total area of 600 sq.m in a field to the South of King Le Dai Hanh Temple since mid-September.
The initial results found an architectural foundation dating back Dai La and Dinh - Le (early Le) dynasties in the 10th century.
Many artifacts are found.
As scheduled, the excavation will be completed by the beginning of December.
The findings will be used to build an archeological map serving for the plan on preserving and developing value of the special national historical relic site of Hoa Lu ancient capital.
