A delegation of the Vietnam General Council of Agricultural and Rural Development and businesses from the Republic of Korea (RoK) on February 14 paid a working visit to Ninh Binh province to seek investment opportunities in agriculture.

Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Tran Song Tung worked with the delegation.
Representatives of the RoK enterprises expressed their wish to cooperate with Vietnamese partners in producing agricultural products such as sturgeon, shrimp, eel, ginseng, and introducing Ninh Binh's products to the global market.
Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh in particular have abundant and hi-quality workforce while the RoK holds advantages in technology, so they hoped that the working visit would open up opportunities for mutually-beneficial cooperation between the two sides.
Tung briefedthe guests about Ninh Binh's potential and advantages, its socio-economic development situation as well as its cooperative and friendly relations with the RoK's localities.
The official noted that Ninh Binh prioritises green and sustainable economic development, considers tourism as a spearhead economic sector and focuses on attracting clean, hi-tech projects.
Regarding agriculture, Tung said this is an important production sector, ensuring the stable development of Ninh Binh.

The Korean investors expressed their wish to seek cooperation with Vietnam, including Ninh Binh, to transfer technology, expand production and sell products in a bid to create synchronic value chains.
The two sides also exchanged views on numerous contents of possible cooperation such as land, infrastructure and interest sharing.
Later, the delegation made a fact-finding tour to survey some places that could be used for new projects.
