After 10 years of implementing the national target programme on building new-style rural areas, by the end of 2022, all 23 communes of Kim Son district had been recognized as new-style rural areas in the period of 2021-2025. Of them, five communes satisfied criteria of advanced new- style rural areas while one commune was recognised as a model new-style rural area.
The face of rural areas in Kim Son district has changed positively. The material and spiritual lives of local people have been improved while social security has been enhanced and traditional cultural values have been preserved and promoted well.
In 2022, the district's per capita income reached over 61 million VND, a five-fold rise from the figure in 2010. The poverty rate dropped to below 1.5%.
The annual average rice output hits over 100.000 tonnes while the fishery output reaches over 35,000 tonnes. Linkage models in agricultural production and consumption have been established and brought about higher income for farmers.
With these results, the Prime Minister on August 18 issued a decision recognising Kim Son district as a new-style rural area.
At the ceremony, Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang handed over the certificate to the Party Organisation, administration and people of Kim Son district.
