The Power Generation Joint Stock Corporation 3 under Vietnam Electricity (EVNGENCO3) has proposed the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee include a 1,200 MW Internal Combustion Power Plant project in Ninh Binh province in the National Power Development Plan VIII .
The plant will be built at the energy center of Kim Dong commune in the coastal district of Kim Son, 45 kilometers away from Ninh Binh city.
The plant covers a total area of 78.6 hectares. It has a designed capacity of 1,200 MW after 2030 with an annual electricity production of 2,564GWh.
The project has total investment capital of around 24.87 trillion VND (1.16 billion USD) and is expected to rake in nearly 14 trillion VND (568.3 million USD) per year, contributing 555 billion VND (23.6 million USD) to the state budget.
The project is expected to ensure energy security and economic efficiency and create momentum for developing residential areas, attracting infrastructure investment in the coastal areas of Kim Son in particular and Ninh Binh in general.
