Inspect new-style rural area building in Yen Mo district

In 2013, Yen Mo district chose 16 localities including 9 mountainous communes to implement the new-style rural area building programme's targets during 2013-2020.

Thanks to the State's investment coupled with joint efforts from local people, 15 out of 16 communes of Yen Mo district has completed all 19 criteria set in the programme.

The districts has paid heed to develop industry and small handicraft industry, with 4 industrial clusters. The value of industry - small handicraft and construction hit over 2,6 trillion VND in 2019.

Over 812 hectares of rice land conversion has been shifted into plantation crop, which gave out higher value from 3 to 5 times as compared to rice planting.

Representatives from the departments and agencies of the province as well as authorities of Yen Mo district clarified several contents related to the commune's recommendations to achieve the criteria, and gave out specific measures to support the locality in fulfilling the rest criteria.

Addressing at the meeting with local leaders, the Head department of propaganda praised the achievements recorded by Yen Mo district commune and stressed that improving living standards for the people is the ultimate goal of the programme to build new rural areas.

More efforts should be made to fulfill the criteria of transportation, environment  ( specifically water sanitation), master plan, health care and education.

The district is striving to complete all of the criteria by the end of 2020. 

Earlier, the working delegation inspected the implementation of advanced criteria for new-style rural area building in Khanh Thinh and Yen Thang communes.
