Hoa Lu district recognised as new-style rural area

The ceremony saw the presence of President Tran Dai Quang and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue.

After six years of implementing the new-style rural area construction programme, Hoa Lu has fulfilled all nineteen criteria for being a new-style rural district.

The district has mobilised over VND 2.8 trillion for the programme over the past few years, including VND260 billion donated by local residents and VND1.2 trillion in non-State sources, creating positive transformations in many respects, as demonstrated by improvements in locals' lives and an increase in the average annual income per capita to VND36 million in 2016.

Addressing the event, President Tran Dai Quang praised the outstanding efforts made by Hoa Lu in building new-style rural areas as well as the common achievements that Ninh Binh Province has made.

Praising Hoa Lu as a particular example in Ninh Binh's new-style rural area construction movement, the State leader encouraged the city to build on the district's success to achieve greater results in the campaign.

Building new-style rural areas is a long-term cause of the entire Party and people, he noted, adding that tasks and targets should be specified in the resolutions and action programmes of Ninh Binh's People's Councils and authorities at all levels in order to improve the quality of criteria.
