The Northern Hoa Binh province is the sub-destination for such sporting event.
Players will compete in 36 disciplines, including athletics, swimming, apparatus (aerobic), rowing (canoeing), football (11 members and men's Futsal), shooting, archery, weight-lifting, Judo, Taekwondo, wrestling, boxing, fencing, badminton, tennis, volleyball, handball, basketball, cycling, table tennis, Golf, Karatedo, Wushu, Pencak Silat, Chinese chess, sepak takraw, billiard & snooker, dance sports, bowling, body building, Muay, pétanque, Vovinam, traditional martial arts, shuttlecock, and diving.
Via the festival, central and local resources should mobilize to seek and cultivate the quality of athletes, thus improving records in some major disciplines, ready for the 30th SEA Games in 2019, the 32nd Olympic Games in 2020 and the 31st SEA Games, scheduled to be hosted by Vietnam in 2021.
Besides, it is a good chance for localities to upgrade their sporting and competing infrastructures, as well as management capacity for officials and referees.
