Vietnam's premier male gymnast Nguyen Ha Thanh showed off his mastery of the parallel bars on Sunday as he fought back to win the men's individual gold medal at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup 2013 in Cottbus, Germany.
This was Thanh's second consecutive international medal this month, following his men's single vault silver at the Internationaux de France 2013 World Cup C III, held in the French city of La Roche sur Yon on March 16-17.
Despite finishing runner-up in the qualifying round, Thanh came back vigorously in the finals with a perfect performance earning him the highest score of 15.375, just 0.075 points above the Greek silver medalist Tsolakidis Vasileios.
The 37th edition of this traditional gymnastics cup took place in Cottbus from March 21-24, lining up an amazing 170 gymnasts from 41 different nations representing all continents.
