Finals of National Volleyball Championship 2021 - Bamboo Airways Cup opens in Ninh Binh

The opening ceremony was attended by Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Tran Duc Phan, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration; Vice Chairman of the Volleyball Federation of Vietnam; Le Van Thanh, Honorary Chairman of the Volleyball Federation of Vietnam; and Le Tri Truong, Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Vietnam, and head of the organizing board.

The second and final rounds take place from December 14 to 25 with the participations of nine men's squads and nine women's teams.

The men's teams include Ben Tre, Trang An Ninh Binh, Binh Duong, The Cong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Border Guard and Sanest Khanh Hoa.

The women's squads are High Command of Information - FLC, Quang Ninh Coal, Dak Lak, Binh Minh Thanh Hoa, Gleximco Thai Binh, Duc Giang Chemical; Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh, Vietinbank and Ninh Binh Doveco.

This is the highest quality tournament in the competition system of the Volleyball Federation of Vietnam. This is the first time, both men's and women's finals are held in the same locality of the northern region.

The event was organised in a close manner with COVID-19 prevention and control measures in place.

It aims to review the professional skills of players and training of clubs, and select outstanding players for the national team who will compete in the 31st SEA Games and other international tournaments.The National Volleyball Championship is the top tournament for the selection of players for the National Team that will participate in upcoming international tournaments, especially the 31st SEA Games and rankings for atheletes in 2021.
