The event is co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong and Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tong Quang Thin attended the opening ceremony, among others.
Speaking at the ceremony, Cuong said the exhibition is held to celebrate Vietnam's Cultural Heritage Day. It also aims to introduce, popularise and honour Vietnam's outstanding cultural heritage values, relic sites and landscapes to domestic people and foreign friends.
The event affirms the potential of cultural and tourism development among localities nationwide, thus creating a driver for investment attraction.
The exhibition will last until November 19 with the participation of 15 centrally-run cities and provinces nationwide.
Numerous activities will be held within the framework of the exhibition, including a display of photos featuring tangible and intangible cultural heritages, and outstanding historical sites and landscapes; a display of over 100 outstanding products of traditional handicraft villages; booths showcasing traditional handicrafts and OCOP products; spaces introducing specialities of different regions in the country.
An art programme introducing different forms of intangible cultural heritages will also be performed during the course of the exhibition such as Xam, Chau Van, Then, sli and Xoan singing, Tay Nguyen drum and gong performance, and a fashion show introducing designs of "Ao dai" in different periods.
