Domestic tourism records signs of prosperity in first days of the Lunar New Year

In the first days of the New Year of the Tiger 2022, domestic tourism has witnessed many positive signals, indicating an optimistic new year for the tourism industry after the long and hard days due to COVID-19.

At exactly 11 o'clock on February 3 (the third day of the Lunar New Year), at Ha Long International Passenger Port, Quang Ninh Province welcomed a group of tourists from Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Pham Ngoc Thuy, Director of Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, this is the first group of tourists to enter Ha Long Bay. This delegation is the result of tourism development cooperation between Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Ninh Binh, and Hanoi within the framework of the Tourism Promotion Conference previously held in Quang Ninh.

In Lao Cai, during the four days of Lunar New Year holiday (from January 29 to February 3, 2022), tourists to Lao Cai reached over 20,000 and will continue to increase in the following days. During the 2022 Lunar New Year holiday, Lao Cai is expected to welcome over 70,000 visitors, an increase of about 25,000 visitors compared to the 2021 Lunar New Year holiday.

Ha Giang has welcomed over 365,000 visitors from the beginning of 2022 to now, while thousands of tourists have chosen famous tourist spots of Ha Giang to visit on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

About 65,500 tourists visited the south-central province of Khanh Hoa, home to famous beach cities of Nha Trang and Cam Ranh, on the first five days of the Lunar New Year holiday (January 31-February 4).

The provincial Department of Tourism said Khanh Hoa earned some 233 billion VND (10.28 million USD) from tourists during the period.

Officially welcoming foreign tourists from February 1 until the morning of February 2, at the Trang An eco-tourism area, Ninh Binh has welcomed a large number of tourists inside and outside the province such as Hanoi, Nam Dinh, and Thanh Hoa. Preliminary statistics show that nearly 2,000 tourists from inside and outside the province visited tourist sites and attractions in Ninh Binh on the first day of the Lunar New Year.

On the first day of Tet, the Da Nang Department of Tourism in collaboration with Da Nang International Airport, Vietjet Air and RongTien Sa Communication Joint Stock Company welcomed the first 230 passengers to Da Nang on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, after reopening to tourism, Da Nang City is increasing domestic flight routes and is currently operating eight routes with a frequency of 218 flights per week from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Buon Ma Thuot, Hai Phong, and Can Tho. During the Lunar New Year holiday, the total number of flights to Da Nang is expected to reach 404 with a total of 44,055 passengers.

Information from the Centre for Culture, Sports and Radio and Television in Hoi An City (Quang Nam) said that during the three days of Tet, Hoi An welcomed about 5,000 visitors.

Visitors to Hoi An during the Lunar New Year holiday mostly come from Da Nang City and some localities in the central region.

A large number of visitors flocked to Da Lat (Lam Dong), Vung Tau, An Giang, Phu Quoc.
